چکیده
Abstract Purpose Spina bifida occulta (SBO) is one of the most common congenital spinal deformities. Although many studies have demonstrated influence lumbosacral dysplasia on low back pain (LBP) in young athletes, there been few SBO among people other occupations. The purpose this study to investigate distribution with LBP and classify from perspective lamina development. Methods X-ray films 148 patients were analyzed quantify abnormal laminae. Results Of patients, 93 (61.49%) had SBO: 83 cases involved S1 alone, 2 L5–S1, 5 S1–2, S1–4, 1 L4–S4. According degree defect, divided basis five grades: 9 grade I, 53 II, 23 III, 8 IV. classified by shape laminae into 4 types: 15 type a, 11 b, 37 c, 30 d. Conclusion Among that we surveyed, dysplasia, which frequently involves segment. Most are developmental stage spinous process, an laminar growth direction stenosis morphologies SBO.

Transitional Vertebra and Spina Bifida Occulta Related with Chronic Low Back Pain in a Young Patient
Bertolotti's syndrome (BS) must be considered as a differential diagnosis in a young patient presenting with low back pain (LBP). We present a case of a 26-year-old male complaining of mild chronic LBP for six years, radiating to his left thigh for the past six months. He has been taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) with skeletal muscle relaxants for pain relief. The X-ray and...

Background and Purpose: Low back pain (LBP) is a world health problem and a major cause of disability. Also, LBP is a major occupational problem among nursing staff. The study is to determine low back pain, disability, quality of life (QOL) and the associations between LBP with job-related risk factors and dimensions of QOL in nurses. Materials and Methods: In this study cross-sectional descr...
متن کاملSPINA BIFIDA OCCULTA WITH ENGAGEMENT OF THE FIFTH LUMBAR SPINOUS PROCESS A Cause of Low Back Pain and Sciatica
Although spina bifida occulta has often been blamed in the past for backache and sciatica, I have believed neither that it was a common source of these troubles, nor that the fibrous band that closes the sacral breach is a cause of nerve root compression, as has been suggested by some authors. I have often explored a concomitant sacral defect while operating for a disc lesion, and have never fo...

INTRODUCTION Assuming that spina bifida (SB) is a genetically controlled disease, the aim of our study was to evaluate the degree of genetic homozygosity and the distribution of AB0 blood types among patients with SB occulta and SB aperta by the homozygously recessive characteristics (HRC) test. MATERIAL AND METHODS Our study included an analysis of the presence, distribution and individual c...
متن کاملAre Transitional Vertebra and Spina Bifida Occulta Related with Lumbar Disc Herniation and Clinical Parameters in Young Patients with Chronic Low Back Pain?
OBJECTIVE Lumbosacral transitional vertebra (LSTV) and spina bifida occulta (SBO) are widespread within the lumbosacral spine. Their connection to lumbar disc herniation (LDH) and/or lower back pain has been debated in the current literature; however, there is no consensus. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the relationship between the frequency of LSTV and SBO with that of LDH among you...
